Campaign Overview
Our Strategy Got Smarter When the Budget Got Cut
The YMCA of Greater Houston operates 25 locations across the city with a mission built around community, healthy living, and youth development. Heading into 2025, they faced a scenario that would stretch any team: the same goals for awareness and program promotion, with 70% less media budget, in a year when Olympic and election coverage was inflating rates across every platform.
The easy move would have been to spread thin. Divide the remaining budget across several creators, generate a handful of one-off posts, and absorb the results as a down year. We went the other direction entirely: consolidate behind one well-aligned creator, build a sustained six-month relationship, and use paid amplification to make a micro budget perform at a macro scale.
Our brand ambassador, Keshla Fuller, is a Houston-based digital creator whose voice centers on community, family, and healthy living, the exact territory the YMCA occupies. Over six months, she produced one Instagram Reel per month tied to the YMCA's monthly program focus. Each video was then amplified through Meta Partner Ads to reach Houston-area parents with children ages 1 to 17.

The Campaign
Six Months, Six Stories, & One Voice.
Each month, Keshla produced an Instagram Reel built around the YMCA's monthly program focus. Her content was them amplified through Meta Partner Ads to parents across Greater Houston. April's Healthy Kids Day Reel broke through organically with 221,559 views, proof that the right creator voice, on the right subject, doesn't need a spend to travel.
Strategy & Execution
Macro Results on a Micro Budget.
- Consolidated behind a single micro creator, Keshla Fuller, whose authentic voice and community focus aligned naturally with the YMCA's brand.
- Built a six-month ambassador relationship, producing one Reel per month tied to the YMCA's monthly program and health focus.
- Amplified every Reel through Meta Partner Ads, targeting Houston-area parents with children ages 1 to 17.
- Used paid media to scale organic content, reaching macro creator audiences without macro creator costs.
Campaign Objectives
Same Goals With Significantly Less.
The YMCA's mandate didn't shrink when the budget did. Every dollar had to deliver what five used to.
- Drive awareness of the YMCA of Greater Houston and its 25 locations among parents with children ages 1 to 17.
- Promote monthly programs and community initiatives, from Healthy Kids Day and summer programs to swim safety and fitness milestones.
- Match or exceed the prior year's reach, video views, and engagements despite a 70% budget cut.
- Deliver smarter efficiency per media dollar by replacing scattered one-off posts with a sustained, amplified ambassador model.
Why It Worked
Macro-Level Results
- A sustained relationship produced stronger, more authentic storytelling month over month, not a one-time transaction.
- One consistent voice built recognizable brand presence across six touchpoints in six months.
- Paid amplification turned earned, audience-native content into a precision-targeted awareness tool.
- Monthly program alignment kept content timely and purposeful. Every post had a reason to exist.
